Local Urban Agendas Network

The XAUL (Network of Local Urban Agendas)

The XAUL is a space for exchange, capacity-building, and monitoring/evaluation of urban agendas at the local level within the province of Barcelona. It serves as a meeting point for institutions and individuals involved in the promotion and implementation of these agendas.

The Network is structured as a flexible initiative, primarily aimed at affiliated local authorities, i.e. those that request participation through the Service Catalogue, with the sole requirement of either developing or having developed a local urban agenda, with or without support from the Diputació.

However, it also includes open spaces for any interested individual or institution, and promotes cross-cutting internal involvement through a political institutional commission, a shared leadership structure (steering group), and a plenary session with technical representatives from a broad range of departments.

As for tools, the Network is implemented through: A virtual community as a technological platform to support collaborative work among affiliated members, in-person working groups hosted by the local authorities themselves, a dedicated website, and The Forum of Local Urban Agendas, a recurring event that aims to be the flagship gathering of the Network and the activities it carries out.
